Dr. Navneet Munoth is an accomplished Architect and Urban Planner serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture and Planning at the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, an institute of national importance. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the National Institute of Technology-Hamirpur, followed by both his Post-Graduation and Doctorate in Urban Planning and Management from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee.

For the past 14 years at MANIT Bhopal, Dr. Munoth has dedicated himself to teaching and fostering interdisciplinary research. His research interests span various aspects of urban planning and the built environment. Notably, he has explored the crucial role of urban green spaces in environmental sustainability, specifically investigating the Carbon Sequestration Potential of Urban Trees.

In addition to his academic and research roles, Dr. Munoth serves as the Honorary Director of the Council of Architecture’s Training and Research Centre (COA-TRC) at MANIT Bhopal. This centre aims to enhance entrepreneurship and skill development among students, academics, and professionals, aligning with national initiatives.

Dr. Munoth’s commitment to excellence is reflected in numerous academic honours and awards for both teaching and research. He has disseminated his findings globally, presenting research papers and book chapters at international conferences in Singapore (National University of Singapore), Malaysia (University of Malaya), and Italy (University of Naples), with recent acceptances for conferences in the United Kingdom (University of East London), South Korea (Pusan National University), and Portugal (University of Aveiro).

Highlighting his significant contributions, Dr. Munoth received the prestigious 13th CIDC Vishwakarma Award in 2022 from the Construction Industry Development Council (established by the former Planning Commission, now Niti Aayog). He holds the distinction of being the first Architect and Planner to receive this national award, marking his fourth such honour, recognizing his substantial academic and professional achievements.
